A Natural Solution to Ohio's Opioid Epidemic: Chiropractic First

Doctors of Chiropractic in Stark, Tuscarawas, Carroll, Wayne and Holmes counties are working everyday to prevent Ohioans from becoming addicted to opiate medications, and helping break the cycle of addiction with relief from non-drug treatment. Every patient that starts with chiropractic care first significantly reduces their risk of opioid addiction and death. Help us end the opioid epidemic in Ohio by telling a friend.

Ohio leads the nation in opioid overdose deaths. A record 4,149 Ohioans died from drug overdoses in 2016, up 36% from 2015.1

80% of heroin addicts started with a reliance on prescribed pain medications.2

What if patients were provided non-drug treatment for pain before using addictive prescription medications? What if patients tried chiropractic first?
A study examining very large Medicare datasets found that in geographic locations with more doctors of chiropractic providing spinal manipulation, there were fewer patients taking opioid drugs.3
