The Chiropractic Community Supports the Canton Marathon
We're looking for volunteers to help with the race. Check out the information below and let us know how you would like to help.
Course Volunteers Mile 24 of the Marathon (and 11 of the Half Marathon) is the Chiropractic Mile. This runs down Fulton Drive from about Whipple Ave to Lakeside through the lovely neighborhood of Avondale. We need volunteers to help with a water station, making drinks available to runners, flagging runners the right way through intersections, and most important - cheering them on. Mile 24 is in the last stretch, so those runners need your support. The race starts at 5:50am and finishes about 1:00pm. We should see our first runners a little before 6:00am. There are 3 shifts for volunteers:
All volunteers will receive a special t-shirt to wear and are invited to our party at Mile 24 (your shirt allows you in). Official volunteers must be age 11 or older. If a family with younger children would like to help, they are welcome to come, but should have adult supervision to keep them away from the course. Volunteer Doctors We'll have doctors at Fawcett Stadium to provide treatment to race participants at the end of the course. This includes chiropractic adjusting and soft tissue treatment. We're looking for about 5 doctors and an assistant. Viewing & After Party
During and after the race, we'll be grilling and having fun on mile 24 in front of McMichael Chiropractic. There will be coffee, water, and snacks in the early morning, breakfast (mid-morning) and lunch. All district members & family or any volunteers & participants (wearing their chiropractic t-shirt) can join in the fun. Watch the race or stop by afterwards. |
